Berkeley Township, NJ – A Bayville man was arrested after police tracked stolen property using GPS technology following a burglary on Holly Lane, authorities said.
Residents reported seeing a person with a flashlight on their back deck, prompting a police response that quickly uncovered shoe prints and missing items.
Officers later found 27-year-old Shareek Massey in possession of several stolen belongings, according to police.

GPS trail leads police to suspect
Patrolmen Nick Bondulich and Patrick Davis were first on scene, gathering information from residents and discovering evidence of forced entry. Detective Derek Mayer joined the investigation, assisting in tracing several of the stolen devices through built-in location tracking features.
Officers followed the GPS signal to a nearby area, where they found Massey under the influence and in possession of multiple stolen items, authorities said. He was evaluated at Community Medical Center before being formally charged.
Suspect faces multiple charges
Police said Massey was charged with burglary and theft by unlawful taking. After being cleared medically, he was remanded to the Ocean County Jail without incident.
The case remains under investigation by the Berkeley Township Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
