Bicyclist Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle Near Route 72, GSP Interchange

STAFFORD TWP-Stafford Police responded to Stafford Park Boulevard near the Garden State Parkway entrance ramp for a report of a bicyclist hit by a vehicle.  The investigation shows Adam Barlow, 34 of Little Egg Harbor was riding his bicycle south on Stafford Park Boulevard from Route 72 towards the Target store to begin his work day.  Barlow was operating his bicycle in the opposite way of one direction traffic and continued through the intersection without assuring traffic was clear.  While crossing the intersection Barlow rode his bicycle into the side of a vehicle entering the Parkway ramp operated by Mrs. JoanMarie Esposito, 47  of Manahawkin.

Barlow sustained a compound ankle fracture and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment. Esposito did not sustain any injury in the collision.  The matter is being investigated by Officer Justin Pascale of the traffic safety unit, he was assisted by Patrolman Allen Jillson.
