Big win for Stamford as player claims $25K

Stamford, CT — A lucky lottery player claimed a $25,000 prize on a 100X scratch-off ticket purchased at Shippan Corner Variety in Stamford, officials confirmed Tuesday.

The winner, whose name was not released, bought the ticket at the convenience store located in the Shippan neighborhood. The Connecticut Lottery said the ticket was validated July 1.

No further details on the winner’s plans for the prize were disclosed.

The 100X game is among the Connecticut Lottery’s popular offerings, featuring a top prize of up to $1 million with multiple lower-tier prizes remaining.

Since its inception in 1972, the Connecticut Lottery has returned billions to support the state’s General Fund.
