Wild scooter suspect dodges Wilkes-Barre police in multiple escapes

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a man accused of repeatedly fleeing officers on a scooter, endangering public safety throughout the city.

According to a statement posted Wednesday on the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department’s official Facebook page, the suspect has evaded police on multiple occasions while riding the scooter, refusing to stop for officers attempting to pull him over.

Authorities said the repeated flight incidents put members of the public at risk, though they did not detail precisely where or when the escapes occurred.

Officers released a photograph of the man and his scooter in an effort to generate leads. Investigators are encouraging residents to come forward with any information that could help track him down.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Morris at 570-208-1052 or send a direct message through the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department’s Facebook page.

Police warned the public not to attempt to apprehend the suspect themselves and to provide any information directly to law enforcement.
