NORTH CANTON, OH — A North Canton lottery player has claimed a $500,000 prize after purchasing a winning ticket from the Ohio Lottery’s high-stakes Billion scratch-off game.
The ticket was bought at Acme Fresh Market #16, located at 1474 North Main Street. After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings totaling 28 percent, the winner will receive approximately $360,000.
Billion is a $50 scratch-off game that offers a top prize of $1 million a year for 20 years. As of May 23, two of those top prizes remain unclaimed.
The Ohio Lottery continues to promote its large-scale instant games, with prize levels reaching into the millions. Since 1974, the lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to support education throughout the state.
