Brick Residents Get First Chance at Beach Vehicle Permits for 2026-27 Season

Brick Township residents will receive exclusive first-day access to apply for one of just 200 beach vehicle permits before applications open to the general public.

BRICK, N.J. — Residents of Brick Township will once again have the first opportunity to secure one of the township’s limited beach vehicle permits when applications open next month for the 2026-27 season.

Applications will be accepted exclusively from Brick residents on Thursday, Sept. 10, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Township officials said proof of residency will be required, and only complete applications will be processed.

Beginning Friday, Sept. 11, applications will be accepted from all applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications may be submitted in person or by mail, though mailed applications received before Sept. 11 will not be accepted.

Applications processed in order received

Applications will be available through the Brick Township Municipal Clerk’s Office and on the township website. Officials said all applications will be date- and time-stamped before being processed.

The permit fee is $35, payable by cash, check payable to the Township of Brick, or credit card. American Express is not accepted.

Vehicle inspections scheduled by appointment

To reduce wait times, the township will conduct vehicle inspections using 30-minute appointment windows.

Applicants should indicate their preferred inspection time when submitting their paperwork. Township officials said all required documents and mandatory vehicle equipment must be presented during the inspection, and photocopying services will not be available on-site.

Once inspections are completed, permits will either be mailed or held for pickup during the following week, depending on the applicant’s preference.

Limited number of permits available

The township will issue a total of 200 permits for the upcoming season.

Each permit will be valid from Oct. 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027, allowing off-season beach vehicle access in accordance with township regulations.
