Broadway mugger shoves man to ground, steals $300 in Bronx heist

BRONX, NY – A 55-year-old man was violently robbed Friday evening in Kingsbridge after an unidentified assailant attacked him from behind and stole hundreds of dollars in cash, police said.

The incident occurred around 7:34 p.m. in front of 5625 Broadway, within the 50th Precinct. According to investigators, the suspect approached the victim from behind, snatched his wallet from his back pocket, and shoved him to the pavement during the struggle.

After removing roughly $300 from the wallet, the attacker allegedly made a threatening remark before tossing the empty wallet back at the victim and fleeing on foot toward an unknown direction.

The victim was not reported seriously injured but was left shaken by the sudden assault, authorities said. Detectives are now working to identify the suspect and are reviewing area surveillance footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
