BRONX, NY – A heated street dispute exploded into gunfire Saturday afternoon outside 424 East 148th Street, sending two unidentified men running in opposite directions after exchanging multiple shots.
Witnesses said the men began arguing before both drew firearms and opened fire at each other in the middle of the block.
No injuries were reported despite several rounds being discharged in the busy Mott Haven neighborhood.
Police said one suspect fled eastbound on East 148th Street on foot while the other escaped northbound on Bergen Street riding a scooter.
The NYPD is investigating the shooting and reviewing nearby surveillance footage to identify the men involved.
The first individual is described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, and black sneakers.
The second man is also described as having a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, tan hooded jacket, tan pants, and black sneakers while riding a motorized scooter.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline.
Both men remain at large as police continue to canvass the area for evidence and witnesses.
Authorities confirmed that no bystanders were struck by gunfire during the exchange.
Residents reported hearing multiple gunshots before seeing one man sprint away and another speeding off on a scooter.
