BROOKLYN, NY — The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office announced that Nicholas McGee has been indicted for the murder and dismemberment of an acquaintance, Kawsheen Gelzer, in a Flatbush apartment in 2022. The gruesome incident reportedly began over a drug-related dispute.

Nicholas McGee, 45, was arraigned before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Jane Tully, facing charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, tampering with physical evidence, and concealment of a human corpse. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to return to court on April 15.

The investigation revealed that McGee allegedly attacked Gelzer as he slept, stabbing him multiple times and striking him with a hammer. After the murder, McGee is accused of dismembering Gelzer’s body, storing parts in a refrigerator and freezer at his residence at 2069 Nostrand Avenue.

Additionally, McGee’s wife, Heather Stines, 45, has been indicted for first-degree hindering prosecution, concealment of a human corpse, and tampering with physical evidence. She was arraigned on February 21 and was initially arrested following a tip to Crime Stoppers about a body in her refrigerator. McGee was subsequently apprehended in Chesapeake, Virginia, and extradited to Brooklyn.
