CAMBRIDGE, MD — The Cambridge Police Department reported an incident involving 35-year-old Tywan Jamar Sampson from Cambridge, MD, who has been charged with multiple offenses following a disturbance on the morning of April 8.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 AM in the 400 block of Linden Ave, where police were initially conducting an investigation. They were called to a neighboring house due to a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, officers found Sampson holding a bat, which he dropped upon their command. However, Sampson continued to engage vocally and aggressively with another individual during the police inquiry.
According to the police, Sampson had earlier forced a door open, striking the victim, and had thrown a rock at a vehicle, causing damage. When officers attempted to arrest him, Sampson resisted, attempting to pull away both during handcuffing and while being escorted to a patrol vehicle.
Sampson was charged with second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property, resisting arrest, and obstructing and hindering. He was transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and subsequently handed over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections where he was held without bond.
