Brooklyn mass shooting suspects still at-large as nypd searches for gunmen who shot six kids sunday

A 15-year-old girl was among six teens shot when two masked gunmen opened fire on a Brooklyn street early Sunday morning.

BROOKLYN, NY – A burst of gunfire shattered the silence along Atlantic Avenue just after 1 a.m. Sunday when two unidentified men opened fire in front of 2929 Atlantic Avenue, wounding six teenagers before fleeing on foot. According to investigators, the shooters struck a 15-year-old girl multiple times in the chest, hip, and leg. Another 15-year-old girl was hit in the right leg, a 15-year-old boy was struck in the left arm, a 16-year-old boy suffered a wound to the right arm, another 16-year-old boy was shot in the left foot, and a 17-year-old boy was hit in the right leg.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and transported the victims to two nearby hospitals. Four were taken to One Brooklyn Health–Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, while the other two were brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. All six were reported in stable condition.

The two shooters, both described as males, were last seen running northbound on Ashford Street after the attack. One wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers, and a black ski mask. The second wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers, and a blue face mask.

The New York City Police Department is asking anyone with information about the suspects or the shooting to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the NYPD website or via the Crime Stoppers app.
