BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a double shooting that occurred in the city’s Division Street area last October.
According to a statement released by Interim Police Commissioner Craig Macy, officers from the C District responded to a shooting on the 500 block of North Division Street on October 10, 2025. When they arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
A 17-year-old Buffalo male was transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital with injuries to his jaw, while a 46-year-old male was taken to ECMC with gunshot injuries to his groin. Police said one of the victims had been driving at the time of the shooting and crashed into a porch after being hit.
Following an investigation by the department’s Gun Violence Unit, detectives identified and apprehended a suspect on Friday, February 6, 2026, without incident.
The suspect, Najm Mims, 18, of Buffalo, has been charged with two counts of Assault in the First Degree (class B felony), one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (class C felony), and one count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree (class D felony).
