Teen attacked, robbed by group on Queens subway platform

QUEENS, NY – Police are searching for five suspects who assaulted and robbed a 15-year-old boy on a subway platform in Jackson Heights Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The NYPD said the attack happened around 4 p.m. at the northbound platform of the 74th Street–Roosevelt Avenue subway station, within the 115th Precinct and Transit District 20. The victim was standing on the platform when five unidentified individuals surrounded him, made an intimidating statement, and punched him in the face before ripping the hood off his Moose Knuckles jacket.

The group fled the station immediately after the assault, leaving the teen shaken but not seriously injured, police said. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the busy transit hub, which connects multiple subway lines and is often crowded during rush hour.
