Prosecutors say he arrived expecting to pay $200 for sex with two underage girls
TRENTON, NJ — A Philadelphia man walked into a Mount Laurel hotel expecting to pay $200 to have sex with two underage girls, prosecutors allege, but the plan was an undercover operation that ended with his arrest and a string of charges including attempted aggravated sexual assault and child trafficking offenses.
Nazim X. Torres, 27, of Philadelphia, was charged by complaint following an investigation involving an undercover law enforcement officer, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office announced Tuesday.
According to court documents cited by the Attorney General’s Office, the investigation began July 14 when an undercover officer was contacted through a mobile dating application by a user operating under the name “ChillVibeMan.”
The conversation later moved to a text messaging application.
Prosecutors allege Torres made statements during those conversations indicating a sexual interest in children and viewing child sexual abuse material.
Investigators said the conversations eventually led to plans for an Aug. 12 meeting at a hotel in Mount Laurel.
Torres allegedly agreed to pay the undercover officer $200 to have sex with two children he believed would be provided at the hotel.
Instead, law enforcement officers were waiting.
Torres was arrested after arriving at the predetermined location, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
He faces first-degree conspiracy to commit human trafficking of a child and second-degree attempted human trafficking of a child.
Torres was also charged with second-degree luring of a child to commit a criminal offense, attempted manufacturing of child sexual exploitation or abuse material, attempted promoting prostitution of a child and two counts of attempted aggravated sexual assault.
Two third-degree counts of attempted endangering the welfare of a child were also filed.
A first-degree conviction in New Jersey can carry a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years and a fine of up to $200,000. Second-degree offenses can carry five to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $150,000, while third-degree offenses can carry three to five years and fines of up to $15,000.

The charges and allegations are accusations. Torres is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
