Lawnside Homicide Under Investigation After 25-Year-Old Man Dies Following Shooting

Detectives are searching for answers after a 25-year-old Lawnside man died following a shooting on West Hodges Avenue.

LAWNSIDE, N.J. — Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 25-year-old Lawnside man, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities said officers with the Lawnside Police Department responded to the unit block of West Hodges Avenue at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Friday after receiving reports of a shooting.

Victim Taken to Cooper University Hospital

When officers arrived, they learned the victim, identified as George Rivera, 25, of Lawnside, had already been transported by private vehicle to Cooper University Hospital.

Rivera later died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 11:27 p.m., according to prosecutors.
