Burglars steal $1,800 in tools from Brooklyn building, NYPD says

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police are searching for two individuals who allegedly broke into a building in Brooklyn and stole construction tools worth approximately $1,800 early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred on January 14, 2025, at around 2:15 a.m. at a building located at 1231 54th Street. According to the NYPD, the suspects gained access to the property by climbing through construction scaffolding.

Once inside, the individuals reportedly removed various construction tools before fleeing the scene on foot. Police say they were last seen traveling westbound on 47th Street.

No injuries were reported during the burglary. Authorities have not released descriptions of the suspects but are continuing to investigate the incident.
