Burglary Investigation Leads to Arrest in Utica

Utica Police were called to a burglary at 1331 Genesee Street on June 14th around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers learned that an individual had entered the store through the back door and stolen various items before fleeing the scene.

A few days after the incident, a male was spotted near the area attempting to sell merchandise similar to that stolen. An investigator from the Warrants Unit, who was nearby, intervened after noticing the commotion.

After the investigator from the Burglary Unit arrived and gathered further information, the male was identified and interviewed.

Following additional investigation and corroborating evidence obtained in the subsequent days, Eric Chrysler, 37, of Utica, was charged in connection with the burglary.
