MANHATTAN, N.Y. — Police are investigating a carjacking that took place earlier this month in East Harlem, involving a group of unidentified individuals who stole both a vehicle and a cell phone.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 6:55 a.m. A 33-year-old man was seated inside his 2016 Nissan Rogue parked in front of 1539 Lexington Avenue when four unidentified suspects approached him.

The suspects ordered the man out of the vehicle, and as he complied, one of the individuals took the victim’s cell phone from his hand. The group then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, police said.

The suspects remain at large, and the investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported in the incident.
