Chesapeake Police Investigating Pedestrian Involved Accident on South Military Highway

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake Police are investigating an incident in which a man was struck by a vehicle on South Military Highway near Canal Drive on Friday evening. The accident, which occurred around 6:45 p.m. on August 23, 2024, left the male pedestrian with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Chesapeake Police Department, officers were initially dispatched to the area after receiving reports of a man running into the street. Before their arrival, the situation escalated, and the man was struck by a vehicle. Responding officers found the injured pedestrian at the scene, and he was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not released the identity of the pedestrian or the driver involved. The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.
