Community mourns passing of John Cataldo, owner of Johnny G’s Pizza

TOMS RIVER, NJ – John Cataldo, owner of the popular Toms River pizzeria and restaurant Johnny G’s has passed away. Cataldo was also an honorary member of the Silverton Volunteer Fire Department. The department will provide an antique fire engine, adorned with buntings at Cataldo’s memorial service.

John Cataldo, 59 years old, passed on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Long Branch, NJ. John co-owned and operated with his brother Michael, Johnny G’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Toms River.

Surviving are his wife Kymberley; 2 sons John Joseph Cataldo and Dominick Cadamatre; daughter Courtney Giordano and her husband Anthony; brother Michael and his wife Stephanie; sister Mary Jo Cataldo; 2 grandchildren Rocco and Bella; and his niece Patricia Mullenax and nephews Michael Stephen Cataldo and Matthew Cataldo.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Monday, October 11 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
