Cops investigate deadly beating in Queens as man dies in street

A 23-year-old man was found dead in the middle of a Queens street late Thursday night after suffering severe trauma in what police are investigating as a fatal assault.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress near 101st Street and Liberty Boulevard at approximately 10:42 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim lying unresponsive in the roadway with extensive injuries to his body.

EMS transported the man to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released pending family notification.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
