Crash stops traffic near River Rd and Route 18 in Piscataway

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Traffic was heavily backed up Wednesday morning after a crash near River Road and Route 18 North prompted a warning from local police.

The Piscataway Township Police Department urged drivers to avoid the area shortly after 9 a.m.

Officials also reported that South Avenue was closed eastbound between Grant Avenue and the railroad tracks due to a disabled vehicle.

Major delays expected on River Rd and South Ave

The department advised motorists to seek alternate routes while emergency crews work to clear the scene. No injuries have yet been confirmed, and it is unclear when the closures will be lifted.

Commuters traveling through the River Road and Route 18 corridor should expect extended delays throughout the late morning.
