Robbery attempt backfires as suspect shoots himself in Towson
Towson, MD — A robbery attempt unraveled when a man accidentally shot himself, leaving him hospitalized and facing pending charges, police said.
Officers responded to the 150 block of Cross Campus Drive after receiving a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.
The man was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred while the man was in the process of committing a robbery, according to Baltimore County Police.
Charges are pending as the investigation continues. Authorities said the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
