Cumberland Police Make Arrest in Burglary Case

CUMBERLAND, MD — A burglary arrest was made by the Cumberland City Police following a report of unauthorized entry into a vacant residence on S. Cedar St. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, led to the apprehension of a suspect identified as William Morgan Stewart Sr., a 41-year-old resident of Cumberland.

Officers arriving at the scene witnessed Stewart exiting the property through an open window. Investigations confirmed that Stewart had neither residency nor permission to be on the premises. Following his arrest,

Stewart faced a 4th Degree Burglary charge and was subsequently released on a $1500 unsecured bond after his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
