CUMBERLAND, Md. – A 32-year-old Cumberland woman was arrested Monday following a reported assault in the 400 block of Furnace Street, according to police.
Officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the scene on January 19 and found a victim who reported being attacked by Dajaynae Joy Painter. Police said the victim had visible injuries consistent with the account provided.
Painter was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. After a bond hearing before a District Court Commissioner, she was released on an unsecured personal bond.
Painter is charged with second-degree assault.
