D.C. Police Hunt for Armed Suspect in Midnight Robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s First District are asking for the public’s assistance to identify and locate a suspect involved in an armed robbery. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, April 26, in the 900 block of Half Street, Southeast.

The suspect, armed with a handgun, approached the victim, who was retrieving items from his vehicle. After robbing the victim, the suspect fled in a vehicle.

The getaway vehicle is described as a black, four-door Honda CRV, bearing Virginia license plate TKG5029. The vehicle, captured on surveillance footage, was last seen in the incident area.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the vehicle or the robbery to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a text to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. Witnesses are advised not to approach the suspect but to leave this matter to law enforcement.
