DC man wanted after vicious morning assault on H Street

Suspect sought in broad daylight assault on H Street in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man is being sought in connection with a violent assault that occurred last month in Northwest D.C., and authorities are asking the public to help identify the individual captured on surveillance footage.

The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, in the 1000 block of H Street NW. Officers from the Second District responded to reports of an assault in progress. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

The victim was transported by D.C. Fire and EMS to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the attack. Officials have not released the extent of those injuries or confirmed whether the suspect and victim knew each other.

Police release video as investigation continues

Detectives are actively investigating the case and are urging anyone with information about the individual seen in the video to come forward. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.

The 1000 block of H Street NW, located near several offices and retail locations, typically sees steady pedestrian traffic throughout the day. Authorities are reviewing additional surveillance footage from nearby businesses and speaking with potential witnesses.
