13-year-old arrested in armed robbery on V Street as DC police hunt two more suspects
Washington, DC – A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a brazen daytime armed robbery in Northwest DC, as investigators now search for two additional suspects caught on camera during the July incident.
The robbery occurred around 1:31 p.m. on July 30 in the 1300 block of V Street NW, where multiple suspects approached a victim on the sidewalk. One of them pulled a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied, and the group fled the scene with the stolen items.
On Sunday, members of the Juvenile Investigative Response Unit and the Criminal Apprehension Unit arrested the 13-year-old suspect under a DC Superior Court custody order. He has been charged with armed robbery.
The suspect is a resident of Northwest DC. Due to his age, his identity has not been released.
Police say surveillance footage captured images of the remaining two suspects involved in the robbery. Investigators are now asking the public for help identifying them. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.

The robbery is one of several recent daylight crimes that have drawn concern from residents in the Northwest area. The investigation is ongoing.
