Suspect sought after man fatally shot in Northeast DC alley
WASHINGTON, DC — Investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in connection with the December shooting death of a man in Northeast Washington.
On Saturday, December 27, at approximately 6:24 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to a report of gunfire in an alley next to the 4400 block of Jay Street NE. Responding units found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS personnel but was later pronounced dead despite medical efforts.
The victim was identified as 49-year-old Junior Almozard, a resident of Northeast, D.C.
Officials with the Metropolitan Police Department released surveillance footage and images of a suspect captured in the vicinity of the scene. The individual’s identity remains unknown, and investigators are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.
