Doorway dispute turns deadly as man stabbed and suspect arrested on scene

Washington, DC – A late-night confrontation outside a Northeast establishment ended in a fatal stabbing, leaving a 45-year-old man dead and another man in custody after police say a dispute escalated within moments.

The incident occurred Saturday at approximately 12:46 a.m. in the 1100 block of First Street Northeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing and located an adult male inside an establishment suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim, later identified as Marvin Urquhart, 45, of Northwest DC, was conscious and breathing when first responders arrived.
