Teen killed and two wounded in Southeast DC triple shooting
Washington, DC — Gunfire erupted across a Southeast neighborhood Saturday evening, leaving an 18-year-old dead in a driveway and two other men wounded in separate locations as a homicide investigation unfolds.
Officers were called to the 3500 block of 22nd Street Southeast at approximately 6:29 p.m. after reports of a shooting. At the scene, an adult male was found in a rear driveway suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Despite lifesaving efforts by DC Fire and EMS, he was pronounced dead.
At the same time, a second adult male was discovered inside a vehicle nearby with gunshot wounds. A third victim, also an adult male, was located at 23rd Street and Savannah Street Southeast suffering from gunshot injuries.
Both surviving victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
Officials identified the deceased as 18-year-old Dereon Womack of Northeast Washington.
Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events and whether the three shootings are directly connected. No suspect information has been released.
