BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A morning dispute on a Brooklyn street turned deadly when a man was stabbed in the chest and left mortally wounded, prompting an urgent NYPD search for the suspect.

The New York Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, May 27.

According to investigators, the incident unfolded at approximately 8:10 a.m. near Seaview Avenue and Rockaway Parkway.

Police said an unidentified individual approached a 34-year-old man and became involved in a dispute.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly displayed a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot toward the Bayview Houses, according to police.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.

The NYPD classified the case as a homicide and continues to search for the suspect.

No description of the individual was immediately released.
