Police say argument inside home turned deadly before suspect taken into custody
Millsboro, DE – A Millsboro man has been arrested and charged with murder after police say he shot and killed a family member during an argument inside a home Thursday afternoon.
John Sulecki, 40, was taken into custody after Delaware State Police responded around 12:10 p.m. to a residence on White Pine Drive in The Pines at Long Neck community.
Argument escalates to fatal shooting
“A third-party family member, who had run from the residence and called 9-1-1, reported that Sulecki had a gun and had shot a 72-year-old female relative during an argument,” Delaware State Police said.
When troopers arrived, they located the victim inside the home with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide unit leads investigation
Detectives with the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit determined the shooting occurred in a back room of the residence following a dispute between Sulecki and the victim.
Sulecki was transported to Troop 7, where he was formally charged and later committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,060,000 cash bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
