Delaware teen charged after November shooting into occupied home

GEORGETOWN, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested an 18-year-old Georgetown man in connection with a November shooting that struck a home along Lewes Georgetown Highway while two people were inside.

Police said the incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. on November 19 when multiple gunshots were fired at a residence in the 22000 block of Lewes Georgetown Highway.

Two adults were in the home at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported.

Following a detailed investigation, detectives identified Jedidiah Dorman as the individual responsible for firing the shots.

On December 1, Dorman turned himself in at Delaware State Police Troop 4.

Suspect faces multiple felony charges

Dorman was charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, two counts of Reckless Endangering First Degree, and Criminal Mischief Under $1,000.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $15,000 unsecured bond pending future court proceedings.

Authorities did not release a possible motive for the shooting but confirmed the investigation is continuing.
