Designer heist bust: Delran man charged in $25K Marlton consignment burglary

EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. – A Delran man has been arrested in connection with a late-night break-in at a Marlton consignment store where high-end merchandise was stolen, police said.

Evesham Township officers responded to a glass-break alarm at Second to None Consignment on North Maple Avenue just before midnight on October 21.

Investigators say approximately $25,000 worth of designer purses, wallets, bags, and jewelry was taken.

Detectives identified a suspect and obtained a warrant after processing the scene and following up on leads developed shortly after the burglary.

Suspect identified, arrested, and linked through recovered evidence

Police charged Roberto D. Alicea, 31, of Delran, with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief and took him into custody without incident at Burlington County Superior Court, where he was appearing on an unrelated matter.

As part of the investigation, Evesham detectives executed a search warrant at Alicea’s Delran residence and recovered additional evidence tied to the break-in.

Detectives also located stolen items at a Philadelphia pawnshop; those items were recovered and returned to the business.

Alicea was lodged at the Burlington County Jail pending court proceedings, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Evesham Township Police at (856) 983-1116, the confidential tip line at (856) 983-4699, or email Detective Sergeant Gary Borbidge at borbidgeg@eveshampd.org.

Officers arrived at 230 North Maple Avenue at approximately 11:58 p.m. after the alarm and found forced entry at the front door, which triggered the response.
