Driver Arrested After on Drug Charges

Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department has arrested a driver following a vehicular collision involving drugs.

Officer John Bell witnessed a collision between two vehicles at Tennessee and Baltic Avenues on Tuesday at 4:52 PM. Louis Murphy, 22, of Atlantic City, exited one of the vehicles and attempted to walk away, prompting Officer Bell to detain him. Murphy was discovered to have several active warrants and lacked a valid driver’s license.

Following his arrest, Murphy was found in possession of 100 bags of heroin and six grams of cocaine. Charges against Murphy include possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent within 500 feet of a public zone, money laundering, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Murphy is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Authorities emphasize that charges are accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
