Driver Tosses PCP Laced Cig Out of Window During Police Traffic Stop

CALVERT COUNTY, MD – On November 30, 2023, a routine traffic stop conducted by DFC Rzepkowski of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of 51-year-old Keith Leroy Harrod from St. Leonard. The stop was initiated due to a traffic violation observed by the deputy.

During the stop, Deputy Rzepkowski noticed a small white object being discarded from Harrod’s vehicle. Upon retrieval, the object was identified as a cigarette containing Phencyclidine (PCP). Following this discovery, Harrod was taken into custody.

Harrod was subsequently transported to the Calvert County Detention Center, where he faced charges of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) possession (not cannabis) and other traffic-related offenses.

This incident underscores the vigilance of traffic patrols in identifying and addressing drug-related offenses in Calvert County. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office continues to enforce drug possession laws and maintain safety on the roads.
