May 14, 2024

Woodbridge, VA – On May 11 at 9:51 PM, officers responded to the Marumsco Plaza shopping center in the 14000 block of Richmond Highway to investigate an assault reported earlier that evening.

The investigation revealed that a 47-year-old man had arranged to sell suspected illegal narcotics to an acquaintance at an undisclosed location.

During the encounter, the acquaintance brandished a firearm and struck the victim in the head, causing him to fall. The acquaintance and a second man then took the victim’s phone before leaving the area.

The victim drove to the shopping center and entered a local business, where employees contacted the police. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries but was uncooperative during the investigation.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’7”, 170 pounds, with a nose ring. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
