MOUNT AIRY, MD – Fire investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning blaze that damaged a two-story home on Violet Court in Carroll County on Thursday.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. at 313 Violet Court and was discovered by a resident of the home. Firefighters from the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company and the Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS responded and brought the flames under control within eight minutes.
Officials said the fire began in a shed located beneath the home’s deck before spreading to the structure. Damage was estimated at $25,000. No injuries were reported, and the home’s smoke alarms were working at the time of the incident.
About 35 firefighters responded to the single-alarm fire. Investigators have not yet determined the cause.
