QUEENS, N.Y. — Two unidentified suspects broke into a residential building in Flushing early Wednesday morning and assaulted an elderly couple before robbing them of cash, police said.

The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on June 18 near Sanford Avenue and College Point Boulevard. According to the NYPD, the suspects forced entry by breaking the front door of the building.

Once inside, they physically attacked a 70-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man, punching and choking both victims before forcibly taking approximately $700 from the woman and $50 from the man.

Suspects fled scene, investigation ongoing

The suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The victims sustained bruising and pain to their necks and heads but refused medical attention at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are working to identify the individuals involved and review area surveillance footage.
