December 22, 2025

CHICAGO, Ill. – Chicago police are searching for three teenage males accused of severely beating a 62-year-old man aboard a CTA bus on the city’s West Side last week, leaving the victim hospitalized with serious injuries.

The assault occurred around 5:40 p.m. on December 16 as a northbound Cicero Avenue bus approached the I-290 expressway from Roosevelt Road, on the border of the North Lawndale, South Austin, and West Garfield Park neighborhoods. Investigators said the group of teens attacked the victim without apparent provocation, punching and beating him before fleeing.

Police described the offenders as three males between their early and late teens. One was wearing a blue jacket, another a red jacket with a fur-lined hood, and the third a gray jacket with a white hood. Detectives have released surveillance images of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.
