Evesham police arrest suspect in Bank of America robbery

December 7, 2024

EVESHAM, N.J. — A 33-year-old Mt. Laurel man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery at the Bank of America on West Route 70, the Evesham Police Department announced Friday.

The incident occurred on December 4, 2024, at approximately 2:43 p.m. when the suspect, identified as David Bello, allegedly passed a note to a bank teller threatening violence and demanding money. The teller complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Responding officers quickly established a perimeter and disseminated a description of the suspect and his vehicle. An alert officer identified a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop, leading to Bello’s arrest without incident.

A search warrant for the vehicle, approved by a Burlington County Superior Court Judge, uncovered evidence linking Bello to the robbery. He has been charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree theft and is being held at Burlington County Jail pending his initial court appearance.

The Evesham Police Department is coordinating with the FBI and neighboring police departments in Mt. Laurel and Westampton to investigate whether Bello is connected to other recent bank robberies in the area.
