Fake cleaning crew ruse leads to $122,000 armed home invasion in Brooklyn

Home invasion crew flees with six figure loot

BROOKLYN, NY – A woman posing as a cleaning service representative allegedly lured a resident to open his door before three armed accomplices forced their way inside and stole more than $122000 in property from a Brooklyn home Friday morning.

The robbery occurred at approximately 9:27 a.m. in the vicinity of Vandalia Avenue and Fountain Avenue, according to the New York City Police Department.

Police said a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were inside their residence when an unidentified female knocked on the door claiming to represent a cleaning agency. When the male victim opened the door, three unidentified individuals displayed firearms and pushed their way into the home.

Once inside, the suspects entered a bedroom and removed jewelry estimated at $118000. Authorities said the group also took a purse, wallets and credit cards, bringing the total value of stolen property to approximately $122000.

The suspects fled on foot, traveling southbound on Fountain Avenue toward Seaview Avenue. No injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
