Family Escapes Woodbridge House Fire Unharmed Thanks to Neighbors

Woodbridge, Virginia – A Virginia family escaped unscathed from a house fire on Merrily Way in Woodbridge early Monday morning. Authorities reported that flames were shooting from the home on the 15000 block when firefighters arrived before dawn. The Prince William County Fire Department responded to the incident.

As per NBC Washington, an on-duty officer noticed the fire and promptly began banging on the door. A neighbor, in an attempt to alert the family, honked her horn loudly. Shortly after these efforts, two adults, their son, and the family dogs managed to evacuate the residence. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
