Cumberland Police Department Reports Recent Arrests and Criminal Summons

Cumberland, Maryland – The Cumberland Police Department made recent arrests in separate incidents. In an event transpiring yesterday at around 10:14 PM, patrol officers observed a vehicle striking a curb at E. Third Street and Arch Street. Subsequently, the vehicle proceeded into an alley between Arch Street and Grand Avenue. Occupants of the vehicle abandoned it and fled on foot. The driver, Jermaine Kimbrough Jr., later surrendered himself at the police headquarters. He was charged with various offenses and released on personal recognizance after processing.

Jermaine Lyn Kimbrough Jr., a 22-year-old Cumberland resident, faced charges varying from obstructing and hindering to driving without a license and driving uninsured. In another development during the same day, officers from the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons to Sherry Perkins following an incident that took place on April 19, 2024. The summons was issued subsequent to an assault in the 300 block of Grand Avenue. Upon investigating the assault, Sherry Perkins, 41 years old, was subsequently accused of second-degree assault and released pending trial after receiving her summons.

The Cumberland Police Department continues to work diligently, addressing the incidents and striving to maintain safety within the Cumberland community. Both suspects, Jermaine Kimbrough Jr. and Sherry Perkins, have been processed according to the law, with Kimbrough being released on personal recognizance and Perkins awaiting trial following her summons.
