Brandywine, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is looking into a fatal crash involving a dump truck that occurred Monday in Brandywine. The victim has been identified as 76-year-old Frederick Hand from Prince Frederick.

On Monday at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a crash at Cedarville Road and Dent Road. At the scene, they found the driver, Frederick Hand, inside the dump truck with traumatic injuries. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.

Initial investigations suggest that Hand was driving northbound on Cedarville Road when his truck veered off the roadway and hit several trees. The specific cause of the crash is still under investigation.
