Fatal crash leaves one man dead in Millsboro

Millsboro, DE – A fatal crash occurred yesterday morning on Millsboro Highway. A Mazda CX-5 was stopped in the westbound lane, waiting to turn into a private driveway when an Oldsmobile Ciera attempted to pass the Mazda. The Oldsmobile swerved left and struck the Mazda, forcing it into a standing tree.

The driver of the Mazda, a 69-year-old woman from Millsboro, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital. Her passenger, a 73-year-old man from Millsboro, suffered serious injuries and died from those injuries on Friday.

The 34-year-old driver of the Oldsmobile was not injured. The roadway was closed for approximately two hours for the investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit.
