Fatal Shooting in Southeast D.C. Claims Life of 65-Year-Old Man

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tragedy struck Southeast Washington, D.C., as a man was fatally shot in his residence yesterday evening. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has launched an investigation into the incident.

The event occurred at around 6:40 p.m. in the 2300 block of S Street. Officers, responding to reports of a shooting, discovered a man inside a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have identified the victim as 65-year-old Lance Anthony Holmes, a resident of Southeast D.C.
