PATERSON, NJ — A tragic domestic incident has left a young girl in a critical fight for her life. Amber LaSane, a 4-year-old girl, was stabbed multiple times at her home in Paterson, New Jersey, during an altercation on Friday just after 4 PM. The assailant, a relative of the child, is currently being sought by law enforcement.

Amber is now in stable condition at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, receiving treatment for severe puncture wounds to her lung and liver, and an injured diaphragm. Despite her grave injuries,

Amber showed signs of responsiveness.

“She couldn’t respond because she had tubes and everything down her, but she opened her eyes and when she heard my voice she started making eye contact trying to see me,” her father, Faherem LaSane, expressed to WABC outside the hospital.

The attack has left the family and community in shock.

“It left me dumbfounded,” said LaSane, who describes his daughter as a happy girl known for her big smile and hearty appetite.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, which responded to the scene, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing as part of an ongoing search for the accused relative.
