FBI fugitive Jose Cruz-Gutierrez arrested in Wilkes-Barre during domestic dispute call

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A routine domestic dispute call led to the arrest of a fugitive wanted by the FBI on Tuesday night, according to police.

Officers responded to a residence on Charles Street at approximately 7:40 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute. During their investigation, they discovered that one of the individuals involved, 22-year-old Jose Cruz-Gutierrez of Plymouth, had an active arrest warrant issued by the FBI’s San Juan Field Office.

Cruz-Gutierrez was taken into custody at the scene without incident, police said. He was then transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. Authorities have not released details regarding the charges he faces in connection with the FBI warrant.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department did not provide additional information about the domestic dispute or whether any other arrests were made. The FBI has not commented on Cruz-Gutierrez’s case.
